Daniela Scillieri, Austin, and Lady Bird

Daniela Scillieri points out that beyond the incredible music scene there are other interesting things to do in and around Austin. One of the main attractions of the icy is Lady Bird Lake. Lady Bird Lake is named after the nickname of Claudia Alta Taylor Johnson. Lady Bird Johnson was first lady of the United States and was married to president Lyndon B. Johnson. Lady Bird Johnson fell in love with Austin 1n 1930 and except while she was living at the white house, spent most of the rest of her life in Austin.

 •    A number of the cities main cultural attractions are named after her. Lady Bird Lake is a centerpiece of Austin and much of the outdoor life revolves around it. Hiking and Biking trails are all over the place and there are numerous hotels facing the parks and lake.

•    A little way south west of Austin is the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. It is a sustainable botanical garden which works hard, through research and education to make a sustainable earth.

•    Mt Bonnell is a place for trails and pleasant short hikes. Although it is in now ay a mountain Daniela Scillieri says, it is the 3rd highest point in Austin.

•    The Barton Springs Pool is 68 degrees year round and is fed by springs. Longer then three football fiends it is located in Ziker Park Near Lady Bird Lake.
